This UN Rated 5 gallon (18.92 liter) white threaded plastic pail with a plastic handle is made with FDA grade high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic. Durable and chemical resistant, this pail features smooth walls that offer ample labeling space and are tapered to allow for easy nesting. This pail is used with a screw-top lid (sold separately) that offers a moisture resistant, air-tight seal. Lids for this pail include spouted and non-spouted versions. Lid’s Life Latch mechnism secures contents after initial opening and releases with a thumb push. When used with compatible lid, container is UN certified for Liquids Groups II and III. This pail is suitable for various storage needs including liquids, dry goods, food and bulk retail applications.

Material:

High density polyethylene (HDPE ) is the most commonly used resin. This economical plastic has good impact and chemical resistance, is naturally translucent and flexible. It is typically used for personal care products such as shampoo bottles. Adding color will give HDPE an opaque look that will result in an increase in weight and rigidness. We have a variety of these rigid and tough high density polyethylene products in stock, from containers, pails, bottles, caps, tubs and jugs. HDPE works well in below freezing temperatures. HDPE heat compatibility varies. Maximum fill temperature is generally around 145°F; however, testing is recommended with your specific product and application.
